LINUX The fastest growing operating system world wide. By John Abbott 2/9/2004, 10:40 AM

A brief introduction, demonstration and question and answer session. You can duel boot your computer (You select Windows or Linux when you start up your computer). Linux is near free, open source with tens of thousands writing and making improvements to the operating system and programs.

 

Another tiny and free program you can have a lot of fun with available from: http://meesoft.logicnet.dk/SmartMorph/index2.php  It will take about 2 minutes to download. Select the first one on the list (Download with installer and examples (824 kb)).

 Fast, advanced morpher program. The program can morph one picture to another or make funny effects with one picture. It allows the user to resize and crop the pictures to achieve the best results when morphing. The resulting animation can be computed and displayed real-time or it can be saved to disk.

 SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP “SIG”  By Corinne Higbee

Our most popular SIG is the PIZZA SIG. Scheduled the second Monday of each month throughout the season, we will meet at Mr. Gatti’s at noon. Yes, that’s this coming Monday. 

Door prizes will be drawn at class Monday, free tickets to Mr. Gatti’s and other computer related items. Drawing will take place at 10:30. Must be present to win. 

 FOOD****FUN****GAMES****EDUCATION 

Immediately following our regular meeting on Monday, the Computer Club members, spouses and guests are welcome to caravan to Mr. Gatti’s Pizza, 4100 N. Colonel Rowe Blvd. (AKA 2nd Street), McAllen TX for FOOD FUN and GAMES. Mr. Gatti’s is located on the northeast corner of Colonel Rowe and Nolana.

For an entrance fee of $4.49 + tax (senior rate), you will receive ‘all you can eat’ salad bar, pizza, spaghetti, baked potato, dessert and drink.    EVERYONE WELCOME
