From Wilma Mueller: Hope Jones had surgery today (4/24/07) & she did just fine. She has cancer of the colon & liver. They took care of the colon, but couldn't do anything about the liver. The doctor gave her 3 - 5 years. Hope does the summer newsletter, which is so great. I know it would make her happy to get cards. Bentsen Grove Resort Newsletter By Barbara Goff During Hopes recuperation, it is our hope to continue Hopes work in producing a newsletter. We are glad to hear from the residents, former residents  and friends of the park as to how they are doing, what is going on, that they made it home OK, and other newsy items. Please help us in getting this going right now by subscribing to the newsletter and send your article ASAP. We do not have last years email addresses, therefore it will be necessary for each to subscribe to it by sending an email with the word "Subscribe" in the Subject line to: bentsen.grove@gmail.com. Include your full name, lot number, state and email address in each correspondence. When you have something to be included in the newsletter, sending an email with the word "News" in the Subject line to: bentsen.grove@gmail.com. When you change your email address, sending an email with the word "Address Change" in the Subject line to: bentsen.grove@gmail.com. The newsletter can be subscribed to by anyone with an interest in B/G including residents, past residents, visitors, friends and family. April 28th, 2007 Good Morning, I'm Gregg Puvogel, Hope Jones son. I'm emailing you this morning to update you on my Mom. The reason a lot of you haven't heard from my Mom for a while is because she hasn't been feeling well this past winter. For the past few months she had been laboring with her breathing. I had been after her to go see a doctor about it, but she kept putting it off. Finally about four weeks ago she experienced such a severe case of shortness of breath she couldn't lie down. With me still in a physical rehab facility, she called my sister to take her to the emergency room. After a week's worth of tests, she found out she had cancer. This past Tuesday, April 24th, she had surgery to remove the main cancer tumor. Although it went reasonably well, the surgeon could not remove the cancer that had spread to her liver. We are hoping when she is released from the surgical hospital, an urologist will be able to address that cancer with success. Right now my Mom is at the Lack's Cancer Center ( http://www.smcancercenter.com/ ), Grand Rapids, MI. Over the years my Mom has always been very supportive of her family and friends as they dealt with their personal tragedies, as well as health issues. Right now my Mom could really use your support as she battles her cancer. I'm sure the address book I'm using is not up to date. So if you would please forward this email on to other people in your address book that know my Mom, our family would really appreciate it..  If you are unable to visit my Mom, there are several other ways you can send her your get-well wishes and words of encouragement. However, if you are going to send flowers, I ask you to please consider an artificial arrangement.
