We will meet each Monday in April. We will continue helping people on their laptops on Monday,Wednesday and Friday from 12-1 or later as needed.
We shared some information on the use of your computer last Monday and answered questions.

Notes given were to increase the size of the font on some internet pages you can hold down the control (ctrl) key and tap the (+) key. Each tap will increase the font size. To decrease the size just hold down the control key and tap the (-) key. This will work on most pages but not all of them. It is great when reading newspapers.

If you are visiting a site on the Internet and get an unwanted pop up do not close it out, but hold down the control key and hit the (w) key. This move will prevent malware from being added to your computer from the web site and remove the pop up.

Some of you may be interested in using your broadband card on your laptop and connecting wirelessly to another laptop in the house. You may like to read up on the Windy 31 which acts like a router in the usb port. It is about $49.00 and you can read about it here. http://www.synetusa.com/

Another tip for making your computer run well is this, if you download a program and you notice your computer is not working the same as you want it to, then uninstall the program and re install it again. Sometimes in a download a file may get corrupted and this process will correct the problem. You can unstall a program by going to start, control panel and locate the program for install and uninstall . Give the programs time to populate and then uninstall the unwanted program.
